Northern California - Mendocino Coast

Mendocino City was the first and leading lumber town in the nineteenth century, but the local timber gave out early and the town quieted down until it was almost a ghost town. But the white New England style buildings were made of decay-resistant redwood and the town survives to this day. It is once again a busy place, a center for arts and tourism, and a favorite choice for movies and television needing what looks like a New England location.
