Northern California - Marin County
			Preserved from destruction by congressman William Kent, and named for conservationist John Muir, these are the most visited redwoods. Busloads of tourists come daily from San Francisco to stroll around the one mile canyon-bottom loop trail. Further north the redwoods are larger and the forests more complex and lush, but everyone is still impressed with the beauty and grandeur here.
