Xochipilli

This is Xochipilli, the Aztec Prince of Flowers. He is thought to represent many of the plants that the Aztecs used for intoxicating purposes. For instance one can see the Morning Glory vine on his shoulder and the Tobacco flower on his thigh. This particular image is a sketch that I made from a picture of a museum piece. Along with the picture was some information of the whereabouts that he was found (near Mexico City) and the estimated dates that he was woshipped (1500-1600 AD) - more precise info will be here later. I also have a theory that he is related to the god in the following image. According to sources they are about two and one half thousand years apart and physically about 350 miles - you can draw your own conclusions. The following image is a scetch of a carved stone found near Oaxaca in Mexico.
